See how we take care of our customers' experience with reliability, top quality and more
Fell into this charming, traditional pub after a long coastal walk from Perranporth. We were very. Much in need of sustenance and The Driftwood certainly didn't dissapoint. Immediately on entering we were welcomed warmly, given a table by the fire, and allowed to open a tab without handing over my card(that little bit of trust goes a long way). Once handed menu's we were stoked to see that the vegan menu, which is usually an afterthought at best, was actually well thought out and delicious!
All service was delivered with a smile and when we were done a cab was called for us to take us back to Perranporth.
All in all a wonderful experience, and without a doubt the best meal out we've had during our current visit to Cornwall.
Thanks to all for rounding an awesome day out off to perfection.

Four of us had lunch.
The drinks selection is extensive.
We had starters and mains. The food was visually enticing, delicious, and plentiful.
In honesty I could have had the Fish Cake ‘starter’ with a side of chips and called it a main.
However, very glad to have had to Specials Cornish Sole: the fish cooked perfectly for me. With juicy mussels, crunchy Samphire, and buttery, herby, crushed new potatoes all swimming in a delicate sauce.
Initially I was a little overwhelmed at the prices … but when the food is of such quality coupled with generous portion sizes, our lunch was absolutely value for money. It was ‘fine dining’ standard (but not fine dining portions!)
Service was friendly and prompt.
Car parking in their car park opposite is free for 3 hours for customers - just make sure to ask for a voucher when leaving.

I visited Driftwood Spars as a photographer at a wedding there on Wed 15th Dec 2021.
I could not recommended the place anymore. The staff were friendly, accommodating, the Food was INCREDIBLE. Had a 3 course meal that was the best I've ever had. Normally with a 3 course me, at least 1 of the servings is a disappointment, either mains or starters etc, but all 3 courses were incredible.
Thick tasty soup, great portions and favours in the mains (Roast Dinner) and the Xmas Pudding blew my mind.
The only complaint I have is, there isn't a Driftwood Spars closer to me. Please open another one in Hampshire/Dorset area. One thing for sure is, my next visit to Cornwall, i will be popping on for food there.
BIG 5* RATING FROM ME

Lovely B&B. Rooms are very clean, bed was comfortable. Bathroom very clean, with a good shower. There is a good choice of breakfast menu - smoked salmon & scrambled egg highly recommended! The lunch and dinner menus have a limited range + daily specials, and between us our party probably tried all available dishes over our stay (for a very well organised wedding) - and all were rated very well cooked and nicely presented, by all of us.
The staff, without exception, are lovely - friendly, helpful and nothing is too much trouble.
Having stayed in these weird & wonderful Covid19 times, for which the Driftwood Spars is very well organised with the necessary compliances, but unobtrusively managed; I would love to go back again in "normal" times. Equally, I also thoroughly recommend it now anyway.

We stayed for the Spring Bank Holiday week to celebrate my daughter's wedding.
Our rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff were extremely helpful and accommodating and the breakfasts were generous with plenty of choice.
Lily, the events coordinator, arranged the wedding for us and the day went without a hitch. The ceremony was in the restaurant overlooking the sea, followed by drinks and canapes in the cliffside garden whilst the restaurant was prepared for the reception dinner. The wedding food was delicious.
We were made to feel very welcome and the atmosphere was relaxed but professional.
All our guests were impressed by the venue and its situation just yards from pretty Trevaunance Cove.
Many thanks to Lou, Lily and all the team for their help in making the occasion very special.
We would not hesitate to stay here again.

Gorgeous place at the trevaunance cove. It's got everything! Lovely to sit and just have a drink and watch the world go by, or a fabulous lunch dinner as its great food! It's also a b&b but I didn't stay there next time I will definitely stay there as its literally a stones throw from the sea, lovely sea views and you can pick up the south west coastal path walk just from down the road at the cove. The only downside is the walk back up the hill to the centre of the village its a lovely walk if you take your time but a very steep one nonetheless. You could always call a local taxi if you don't drive and don't fancy walking. We walked and just took our time as the weather was gorgeous and we were well rested. They also have live music there too and all sorts of cool and interesting events. An absolute must see & do whilst in St.Agnes

We had lunch outside. Staff are helpful and food arrived quickly. Food was reasonably priced and really nice. Some drinks can be a bit pricey. The view is amazing. We were there for the open mic session, the atmosphere was buzzing.
Though the car park is small and street parking is limited we were able to parked easily. Parking for up to 3 hours is reasonable, beyond that it gets expensive. This probably contributes to the availability of spaces. There is a discount up to £5.50 if you spend £10 in the pub, or free if you are staying there. However, the voucher we were given would not scan and we didn't really want to mess around getting someone to sort it.
A short walk down a very steep road leads to the bay, where you can chill on the beach, swim or even go surfing.
Despite my minor grumbles, this place is well worth a visit and deserving of 5 star rating.

Just had Sunday lunch here with my husband. We arrived a little early but that was no problem , we were seated at our table and had a little relax and a drink in the bistro restaurant. The food was fantastic, My husband had the lobster ravioli and I had the Cornish brie to start. Then we both had a roast beef lunch ,proper home cooked Sunday roast. So tasty. Portion sizes are very generous. I don't know how but we managed to fit a dessert in. I had lemon and lime posset and my husband had the blondie with ice cream. I didn't manage to finish the posset , it was just a little too much but taste and value for money spot on. You have a fantastic chef there, keep hold of them. The lady that served us was very friendly and the service was very efficient. We have already booked in again for my husband's birthday on June 1st. Can't wait to go back.

Cornwall is really busy, everywhere... But St Agnes is a hidden little gem. Buzzing, but not overrun. Driftwood Spars is the perfect place to stay. Firstly, there's parking, which helps... But... It's child friendly, dog friendly and people friendly. The staff are AMAZING. Super kind, super lovely and really looked after us. The room was great with everything we need. Location wise, you have the beach 1 minute away, cliff walks, St Agnes town up the hill and Schooners right on the beach. It's a vibrant little pub as well, and a restaurant. The only slight disappointment for me was the food, as seeing the posts shared and tagged by the chef I thought it would be really high end, but still alright. The dipping sauce for the squid and the cheese board were fantastic. Plus.... all made better by some amazing friendly service. We will 100% be back!

Popped in for a quick drink as I'd been meaning to for ages but it's always mega busy in St Agnes during the peak time, so I waited until all the tourists have gone. Absolutely lovely cosy bar area in the lower deck, wish I could've stayed longer, I could've sat there for hours, (a cab next time I think). Saw the fish n chips from a distance as it was delivered to a table on the other side of the bar, looked and smelt lovely. I tried a pint if one if their in house brews, a really nice pint of dark ale, smoke taste, loved it but I've forgotten it's name 🤦 Will be back soon to try again, highly recommended. Quick shout out to Jason, (I think?), behind the bar, had a nice personality!

In a bid to get organized before arrival at a late summer holiday hut in St Agnes, I reserved a table for Sunday lunch - there's something very comforting about looking forward to a roast and pud, especially when the thoughts are mixed with the anticipation of Cornish sea air, the quiet gentleness of deserted beaches and the deliciousness of a favourite baggy cotton sweater over your soon to be moth balled sundress. The Driftwood Spars is perfect for all of the above. Firstly, your reservation is for a two hour slot, so you can relax and take it slowly. Savour the tasty vegetable medley and tender meats, served by charming staff and accompained by very smooth wine. The homemade hummus is so fresh and the menu itself has something to appeal to all tastes and appetites - at very acceptable prices. Afterwards, walk it all off by taking the track up to the SW Coastal path or stroll down to the beach and just be for a while!

Situated within walking distance of the beach this is a proper pub without arcade machines or piped music. The staff were friendly, efficient (and ,the bar staff, handsome) great selection of REAL beers and cider - beer brewed on site with tasters offered. The four of us perused the extensive menus and having ordered, the food arrived within an acceptable time, all of the portions and the quality of the food was superb. My parents decided to finish with tea and this too was presented in a proper tea pot and was a good strength, NOTHING could spoil our visit to this superb venue.

We stopped off at The Driftwood Spars while visiting St Agnes and were so glad we did.
The pub has such a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and the staff made us feel right at home straight away.
It’s a beautiful spot with loads of character, and it’s also wonderfully dog friendly, which made our visit even better.
We only stopped in for a drink, but the selection was great and it was the perfect place to relax and soak up the charm of the village.
A fantastic pub that we’ll definitely return to!

So we got married here 22.05.2021 the staff where beyond amazing and went above and beyond to make our day perfect. They where so helpful and very friendly would definitely recommend a visit. The place is beautiful with amazing views. A beach just down the road and also a coastal path for the more adventurous. We stayed for 2 nights with our doggie. And felt very welcome from the moment we go there the food was amazing too you can dine in or take away. They also have a top garden/bar area to sit with the most amazing view.

I stayed here for 6 nights with my dog, and ate in the pub twice with my parents (having drinks without food a few more times). Staff were absolutely amazing despite being incredibly stretched. So friendly and attentive, and service was quicker than we’d expected given the staff shortages. Food was good and my dad loved the ale they brew on site, and the location is brilliant - the sea and gorgeous beach was about a minute’s walk away and it was such a bonus to be able to swim every day and then wander back to my room to get changed. They have kept covid measures in place which is completely understandable given the recent surge in cases in Cornwall and the number of local people that said they’d been ill, all the staff wore masks so we did too when walking around. Great to have reserved parking included in the room rate, which was a real benefit so close to the beach. Great choice of breakfast and loved the coastal path walks towards Perranporth and Chapel Porth starting from the pub too. A lovely week!

Lovely pub. Very nice atmosphere and great for dogs and dog lovers. The chips and onion rings are some of the best I've ever had and very reasonable. Also a great selection of ales and ciders, really recommend the snail's bank mango cider. Friendly service too.
Update: returned for fish and chips, and a Sunday roast. They didn't have the gluten free Yorkshire puddings but everything else was fantastic, the roast was so generous we had to take some home with us.

The team at The Driftwood Spars is absolutely excellent! My husband and I had a small issue with our bedroom, but a member of staff stepped in straight away and did their best to help – really impressive service. The location is unforgettable, with such a unique charm, and the rooms were spotlessly clean. We also had the chance to try their restaurant and… WOW! The food was out of this world. A fantastic experience all round – highly recommended!

Held our wedding reception here. The staff were exceptional. The help beforehand was great and they decorated the room for us beautifully and allowed us to store our cake. The food was outstanding and most guests returned for seconds, clearing every trace. We even had to put back the timings due to a guest's health but the staff just adapted perfectly. We and some of the guests stayed over night, the rooms were lovely and breakfast was wonderful. Couldn't be happier.

Always a warm welcome in this cosy pub! Friendly & helpful staff.
Great menu, tasty food! Love their roast! Fantastic range of ales/beers from their microbrewery.
Used a few times throughout Covid, great systems in place for a click and collect takeaway service and the cribshack. Great processes set up for eating in the pub also, didn't feel anxious due to the social distancing rules they put in place, enjoyed a relaxed tasty meal and pint. Highly recommend a visit or two.

I am coeliac and I don't drink typical gluten free beer because it is still made of barley. Driftwood Spars "Unexpected" gluten free beer is made of sorghum and is truly gluten free... but you'd never know it to drink it! It is a delicious citrusy light ale. A little hoppy but not too much. I prefer it to most of the ales I drank before I went gluten free. Thank you Driftwood Spars for providing us with a delicious and truly gluten free option!
~ Lorna R
An old pub full of trinkets and character from the local coast and history of St Agnes. We enjoyed their own ale and other local beers in their wonderful bar with large open beams and a working fireplace. We also ate dinner here and was pleasantly surprised at how amazing the food was. Fresh, interesting, seasonal and full of flavour with decent portion size. The staff were friendly and attentive. Couldn't ask for much more!
